I realize this is old news, but I would be remiss if I did not at least mention this latest abuse of police authority, which happened in New York. Read the CNN article HERE.
I like how the police can justify shooting unarmed people 50 times by simply saying there was an additional man outside the car with a gun. I am sure Republicans and Authoritarian-Apologists will automatically believe the police, but I know better. They shot some black guys 50 times (one of the officers reloaded twice during the shooting) , then found out these black guys didn’t even have a gun. Oops! We better cover our ass. How can we do that? I know! Say we saw a gun… in the hand of another black guy. Plausible deniability. Why didn’t the police have cameras rolling, if they were doing a surveillance operation?
HERE is the article where the survivors talk to the D.A. And New York’s mayor doesn’t understand why people are waving “Death To Pigs” signs? He really can’t understand how people would be angry that their tax dollars go to protectors who are actually murderers? At least real criminal murderers aren’t funded by their tax dollars.
This whole situation is thoroughly disgusting, and just another example of the creeping authoratarianism happening in America. The police involved will get away with it scot free, as always.
