WAR ON DRUGS: Federal marijuana decriminalization bill introduced — tell your congressman to support it here. Surveys tend to show that around half of Americans support decriminalization of marijuana. Since this is not a direct democracy, and you don’t get a vote, letting your congressman know what to do is the only way you will be represented. So speak up. Of course this wont make a real difference, as only 1% of marijuana arrests occur at the federal level. But federal penalties are draconian and extreme. (tags: marijuana Democrats BarneyFrank)
TECHNOLOGY WAR: Australia Government Demands Universal Wiretapping Abilities Granted, I can understand why they want these things… But such powers are easily abused, and 2 people are going to be able to have a private conversation one way or another. Encryption, or face to face, for example.

SEX: Md. Court Rules Women Can Withdraw Sexual Consent in the middle of sex – sort of makes sense, but how do you prove it? So, this woman decided to let 2 guys fuck her, as long as the 2nd guy would stop when she said stop. He went on for “5 to 10 seconds longer”, now charged with rape. First off, how exactly do you prove such a thing? There’s no physical testimony. It’s he-said, she-said, and the Innocence Project has gotten a shitload of so-called “rapists” released because DNA evidence does not match testimony. Furthermore, rape represents an escalation of intimacy to me. Someone fucking you who you did not plan to fuck. I really don’t think if you’re in the middle of having sex with a 2nd person consecutively, and you say stop, and someone stops 10 seconds later that it is at all the same thing as being forcefully penetrated against your will. We are talking about the strongest biological drive that there is in our DNA, and it’s hard to ignore such urges. Do you really think you can say yes, then say no, and expect the penis to fly out at light speed? I think 5-10 seconds actually represents more self control than 10% of men are capable of having. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to react to something. If I’m in the middle of cumming, I’m probably not going to stop even with a gun to my head. It’s a sticky issue, and I don’t necessary have the right answers; or any answers at all. And I would personally beat a known rapist to a pulp if given the opportunity. But this isn’t quite the same thing. I’m sorry for having an unpopular opinon. (tags: sex rape trials)
PHOTOGRAPHERS’ RIGHTS: Innocent photographer or terrorist? – Remember, US-paranoia climate copies the UK-paranoia climate a few years later. We already have major problems with photographer’s rights in America. Expect them to get worse. COPYRIGHT: RIAA Sues Homeless Man. Did not try to find him; left summons on the door of his old apartment. Judge pissed. They got away with it with zero Rule 10 sanctions. The judge decided it was okay because they were just being “sloppy”. “Sloppy” is not what you buy when you buy expensive corporate lawyers. I believe it deliberate. (tags: copyright RIAA lawsuits )
