It’s a crazy day today! Check it out… The Jessica Rabbit picture is a realization of many childhood fantasies!

CONSTITUTION: Another day, another sliver shaved off the 4th amendment: Supreme Court reverses Virginia Supreme Court decision and broadens police power in searches. Expect black people to be arrested in situations whites aren’t (business as usual) It is now legal to arrest you on a non-arrestable offense, search you, and use whatever they find against you, even if it’s an illegal arrest… Officers ignored Virginia law and got away with it. This does not mean people should not assert their right to refuse a search, as consenting takes away all ability to later contest things. (tags: 4thAmendment SupremeCourt Virginia)

VETERANS AND UNNECESSARY WARS: VA lied to congress about suicide attempts – said 800 a year … but internal emails said 12,000 a year. And by the way, War Is Peace, Freedom Is Slavery, Iraq is Tranquil, and We Control Afghanistan too. “The government lies – even to itself. Film at 11.” (tags: veterans WarInIraq VeteransAdministration)

WTF?: Border agents to use paintball guns to fend off attackers I mean… if federal agents actually need to actually defend themselves… shouldn’t they have actual guns? I’m kind of surprised that they don’t! Are they just easing them into the concept? “First, we’ll give you a big stick. Next year, you’ll get water guns. The year after that, paintball guns. After that, pistols. The next year? Automatic assault rifles.” This just seems a little … weird. (tags: WTF OurTaxDollarsAtWork)

WAR AGAINST BACON-WRAPPED HOT DOGS: Umm, this is America. Of course it’s true! I‘ll eat what I goddamn want, and keep your laws of my body! I read about this before, maybe even blogged about it. But I’m still stupified… Bacon-wrapped hotdogs….illegal? 45 days in jail? Our tax dollars at work again? GAH. I love the various hysteria methods the police PR machine uses (i.e. children, urine, gangs, assaulting the police) to try to raise the awareness of the evil spectre of… bacon-wrapped hotdogs. It is every American’s duty to make bacon-wrapped hotdogs — start NOW. (tags: KeepYourLawsOffMyBody bacon OverlyHarshPunishments WarOnFood)

PROGRAMMING: How to Upload YouTube Videos Programmatically – perl script to upload YouTube videos at command-line. I got this working last night, and it’s like 1/10th the effort! In the comments section, someone adapted it to work with Google Video too, but I don’t see the point in this, since YouTube videos show up in Google Video searches. (tags: perl YouTube command-line)

VOTING FRAUD: Diebold (who most likely helped George W. Bush steal 2 elections) Admits ATMs Are More Robust Than Voting Machines — gee, isn’t the country’s democracy a little bit more important than an ATM machine? If we value our democracy less than we value our cash, well… That explains a lot of things about why our country works the way it does. BTW – voting machines are part of the technology war. The rights that we used to have to ensure accountable elections are being politically “land-grabbed” away by the corporations that stand to profit from oppressing us with our own technology. CARTOONS/MOVIES/BABES: Jessica Rabbit Untooned. Remember the “What If Homer Simpson Were Real?” and “What If Mario Was Real?” pictures? This is the “What If Jessica

FOOD: Gentically Modified crops – major new study shows GM soya produces 10% less food than its conventional equivalent. Think Monsanto cares? Nope. With food riots in 30+ nations, and rice rationing even starting in America, the last thing we need is for a corporation to monopolize our food supply AND cause it to dwindle for their own profit. Monsanto is a threat to humanity. (tags: food GeneticaillyModified Monsanto soy)

HAHAHAH: Stoned man arrested after trying to fill gas into an imaginary car …. Dude, where’s his car? “Reports do not indicate whether his imaginary car was impounded.” LOL!!!! (tags: comedy marijuana) -
TECHNOLOGY WAR VICTORIES: Australian’s ISPs (all but 1) refuse to police their users at the behest of record companies. GOOD. The phone company should not and does not listen to our calls to hear if we are doing anything illegal. And ISPs should follow suit. And BOO on Exetel. They’re the AT&T of Australia. (tags: ISPs RIAA)

TECHNOLOGY WAR: FBI wants to move hunt for criminals into Internet backbone. They actually ALREADY tap these lines, but now they want to be able to analyze all (?) traffic to look for criminal activity. While we’re at it, maybe they should search everyone’s house without a warrant for criminal activity too… (tags: TechnologyWar privacy FBI wiretapping)

Paintballs, the TASER of the future!
April 25, 2008 at 3:02 PM
Homer: “Or what? You’ll release the paintballs, or the tasers, or the dogs with paintballs in their mouths and when they bark they shoot tasers at you? Well, go ahead — do your worst!”
