Suing a gun shop is ridiculous, but the idea that you could throw a trial and not be allowed to mention the bill of rights that delineates all our rights — is so un-American that lawyers Eric Proshansky should be disbarred.

COMEDY: COMICS: The 6 Creepiest Comic Book Characters Of All Time — hilarious list, great commentaryI’m actually quite shocked at all these characters! Hilarious!!!

Just a counter-point to the Apple cultists who repeat over and over that Apples are magically secure. No, they aren’t. Hackers simply go for the larger install base (windows) to get the highest number of taken-over computers.

I don’t really find her dress THAT remarkable. But she was black, and in Texas, and a student — not a good combination. I’m in the 17% minority (probably Texans) who thinks the school went ape shit. Aubrey Taylor = typical shitty school administrator.

It’s come to this. And one has only to look at how asset forfeiture is used in the war on drugs to see that this is a bad thing. Typically, if you don’t have 10% the value of your home in cash, you cannot even contest a seizure

Copyright infringement:
That article quite frankly full of hot air. I doesn’t seem like the author fully understands or even read the bill.
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D?c110:3:./temp/~c110iwtc5f::
Section 202 would a appear to be the relevant section.
#1) It only applies to criminal copyright infringement(vs civil). In order for it to be criminal, there has to be a much higher burden of proof. It has to be willful. And most importantly, the infringement has to be for commercial gain. This would exclude about 99% of the population.
#2) In the case of criminal infringement the government ALREADY has the right to seize certain assets.

BTW, I’m against the bill, because it does expand the power for forfeitures. However, only slightly.
By slightly, I mean it only slightly increases the power, not that I’m only slightly against it.

Give them an inch, and they’ll take a mile.

The police state/martial law abuses are coming fast in swift. with the unPATRIOT ACT, W’s continuity of government executive order power grabs, and the militarization of local police forces, the Constitution is in grave danger. Why are so many willfully blind to the unified executive (fascist) subjugation of the citizens? Give ‘em hell Clint, you are not alone.

As for the girl arrested for her choice in prom dress….

(A collection of postings about that event.)
And just in case everybody thinks racism is dead, and can have no angle in something like this, remember that there are a LOT of people who still think like this:

Not that she doesn’t seem moronic, but still. Revealing dresses being a problem… at a prom? This is the event that more people lose their virginity at than any other. Texas puritans… Video segment here:
