  • WAR ON TERROR: Is the government compiling a secret list of citizens to detain under martial law? Possibly as many as 8 million names on “Main Core” list.
What, you say? The government would never incarcerate its own citizens? Did you forget the 120,000 Japanese americans put into concentration camps during WW2? American citizens — even infants? How quick you forget.

  • ANIME: 2007 Anime Awards (1-5)
One blogger’s decision of the top anime series to air in 2007. I’ve seen none of these, and would be interested in feedback from anyone who has. Dennou Coil sounds particularly interesting to me.

  • OVERLY-HARSH PUNISHMENTS: Another reason why true freedom-seekers should never leave the house — can’t even drink at a club without getting arrested. Texas, of course.
Fairfax Virginia pulled a similar stunt a few years ago, going into a bar and arresting people for being drunk in public. Funny how “public” can mean 2 different things, allowing them to define it however they want.

  • TECHNOLOGY WAR: Cisco gives internal marketing presentation in which it appears to be willing to assist China in “combating Falun Gong evil cult”
American Companies: Helping non-democratic regimes oppress already-repressed religions with more efficiency. Couldn’t Cisco go after Scientology instead?

  • TECNOLOGY WAR: UK to create database of EVERY phone call, e-mail, and time spent on the internet — to fight terrorism, of course
If this isn’t already happening in the US secretly, expect it to be very soon now. We follow right behind the UK’s footsteps in matters of big-brother-ism.
