Bush stopped the funding of the research, not the actual research.
Admittedly this likely hypocritical and laughable in light of other government actions.
However, to suggest that the funding should be forceable taken from taxpayers, is to suggest the ends justify the means.
If people don’t pay their taxes should they are imprisoned, if they resist they can be shot.
I hope to see many new developments via stem cell research, but I don’t condone such force and violence being used or threatened on others.
