  • WAR ON DRUGS: Bolivia Suspends Operations By DEA
Just how long is it going to take our idiot populace to realize the war on drugs is failed? They're too distracted by the war on terror TO EVEN BRING UP the war on drugs in debate anymore. It's ridiculous.
Fortunately, the rest of the world is starting to see that our approach has been dead wrong.
Bolivia joins this consensus, kicking out all american DEA agents.
We violated their sovreignity, and they kicked us out.
That's how it's supposed to work.
Different countries have their own rules; they don't have to abide by ours. It would be a very bad thing if every country had the same laws.

  • BUSINESS AS USUAL?: Obama picks pro-Israel hardliner Rahm Israel Emanuel for top post — is this "change"? Doesn't look like it; let's hope to be wrong.
His dad helped smuggle weapons for a terror group that attacked Palestinian civilians. He criticized George Bush for being insufficiently supportive of Israel (the #1 receiver of U.S. military dollars). He said Israel's policy of assassinating Palestinian political leaders was "clearly justified as…self defense". (I disagree. It's bullying, and every leader they kill likely inspired 100s of Palestinians to join the cause.) He tried to cancel a speech to congress by Iraq's prime minister because he criticized Israel's bombing of Lebanon. Remember that little travesty? Israel just likes to flex it's muscles and randomly bomb and kill people (like American Journalists) when they feel like it.

Obama publicly distanced himselfs from friends suspected of having "Pro-Palestinian" sympathies.

Apparently civilians don't matter when they're not ours.
I'm not hopeful for much "change" for the oppressed Palestinian civilians, sequestered in their ever-shrinking non-sovereign reservations.

  • POLITICS: Democrats Discuss Target Private Retirement Accounts — over my dead body
If it even remotely looks like there's a chance that my 401(k) is forcibly converted into social security, then I wont ever contribute another goddamned penny. I'll put my money elsewhere. That people would even be considering taking our PRIVATE RETIREMENT ACCOUTNS and redistributing them against the will … Well, I don't feel so bad about not having a job right now if the money I earn isn't mine in the first place.
Wow. I hope this is just sabre-rattling.

Looks like all we need is:
    1) Democrats to convert our 401(k)s to social security.
    2) Republicans (via a future president) to privitze 401(k).
    3) Republicans to reduce market regulation
    4) A market failure like we had this year, in part due to deregulation
…And voila! The corporations and special interest groups will have found a way to rob you of your entire retirement. (And then a Democrat will come back around and raise taxes to pay for everyone's failed social security.)
    Phew! I hope that doesn't happen! :)

  • ELECTION 2008: Medical Marijuana Takes A Federal Step Forward – even the new potential Drug Czar will support medical marijuana!
    Wow.
Of the 18 or so Republican incumbents who lost their seats to Democrats (the final numbers aren’t in yet), 17 are medical marijuana opponents. And every single Democratic incumbent who lost Tuesday was a medical marijuana opponent.

  • RELIGION: In memoir, daughter of CUT leader comes to grips with where church went wrong
An article about my mom's half sister Erin Prophet, and her experiences with CUT, the cult my grandfather started before his death (which was taken over by his 2nd wife Elizabeth Prophet).
And of course, you can buy Erin's book here:

  • OBAMA: Obama's Treasury Candidates: Old Guard Of The Corporate Elite
I'm soliciting comments in disagreement with this article (Ian?); yet I've already seen several complaints from people about Obama "appointing Clinton's old cronies".
Of course, as an Alex Jones/Infowars/Prison Planet article, this is about as inflammatory as they come. (Which is why I like them — most other sites will not outright say a lot of the things said here.)
Of particular concern to me is not Bilderberg connections, since Bilderberg is very secretivei — but Council On Foreign Relations connections. They are not secretive and of late have represented an agenda that can only be termed "neocon".
But hey, maybe this is all just sour grapes fearmongering. We'll have plenty of time to see.

“Its ironic that Obama can just barely get elected after being criticized for hanging out with an ex-terrorist, while nobody bats an eyelash when he appoints as Chief of Staff a guy whose father was a terrorist!”
