Left almost too late to go — at 11:20AM… Then we had to spend 20+ minmutes coming back to send an important email (yes, camping was really canceled! Please don’t go to the woods alone!)… It was rainy. We spent about 2 hrs and probably drove at least 12 miles. Kind of a waste. But we did get SOME stuff. DVDs I’d never pay full price for!
Total spent $28 plus ~$2 estimated gas for a total of $30.
We bought 11 items – 4 of which we could definitely use – for an estimated value of $183, leading to a profit of $153. That’s $76.60/hr as a couple or $38.25/hr per person. And to earn $153 after taxes you’d really have to earn about $219; money saved (by not having to spend it) is actually worth more than we realize when the government’s cut is taken into consideration. Our take is listed past the jump…
- $10.00 DVD: Twin Peaks Pilot [import!] + S1 + S2 dvd set (while I was wearing a Twin Peaks shirt!) (Lowest new prices: $8 + $34 + $27). He actually threw in the pilot from free — walked back into his house to get it — when he saw how excited we were to be able to get this for so cheap. “But I’m keeping Fire Walk With Me“, he said.
- $5.00 DVD: The State – complete dvd set (this just came out!) (Wal-Mart:$32)
- $5.00 mirror, 28×40 – pretty damn big! We don’t even have a place to hang it; just put it in front of a radiator. Framed fancy new mirrors this big cost $300-$400, but without a frame and in poor condition I’ll call the EV for this to be $30.
- $2.00 lamp (EV:$10)
- $1.50 body wash, Avon Fusions SkinSoSoft Dual Softening Body Wash ($6.50)
- $1.50 body wash, Avon Fusions SkinSoSoft Moisturizing Shower Gel ($6.50)
- $1.50 body wash, Avon Naturals body soothing lavender & chamomille shower gel ($3)
- $1.00 DVD: Spawn 2 dvd – is this really part of the Spawn animated series, and not the 2nd movie? I hope so. Confusing. ($7 new)
- $0.25 Bath & Body Works Vanilla Sugar deep cleansing hand gel, 60% alcohol ($4)
- $0.25 frame, wooden, 9.5×11.5 (EV:$15)

* EV stands for “Estimated Value”, which I estimate by looking things up in Google Shopping/Google/Amazon/Ebay. I don’t always deduct for an item being used, unless it’s actually in worse condition.
