74 Democrats sent Obama Appointee a letter saying net neutrality will "jeopardize jobs", which is TOTAL BULLSHIT.
37 Republiacns sent it too.Wait — did you really think the Democrats would do the right thing and grant technological freedom to us, just because the Republicans are more evil? HAHAHA, You've been fooled. Democrats love big business almost as much as the Republicans! Enjoy your false dichotomy.
The internet is slowly becoming more and more censored and controlled. And the Democrats aren't going to save it. What a joke.

This happened in 2001. The police helped stall the legal proceedings for so long that the statues of limitations meant they'd get no jail time. So instead of a 5 yr sentence to jail, they are getting a 5 yr sentence of "you don't get to be in office for 5 yrs".
Frankly, anybody who abuses their power so far as to put people in a coma should NEVER EVER BE IN PUBLIC OFFICE AGAIN.
Governments respect the establishment, not personal freedom. Even those claiming to be democracies are not generally for the people.
Masked policeman wearing unnumbered uniforms attacking a school being used as a dormitory for protesters? You call that freedom?
Oh, and they lied about Molotov cocktails, about being attacked with a knife — the knife attack was actually rigged. These cops were probably paid by higher powers to do this.
This ruling is an underly-harsh punishment. These people should go to jail.

We call them a beacon of democracy – but all they really are is less repressive than the Muslim-asshole-countries that surround them. Is that really an achievement to gloat about?
Of course, even the US likes to imprison journalists for doing things the government likes. That's why Reporters Without Borders gives both countries a fairly low rating [as far as democracies go].
"Israel essentially made a journalist – and her story [about official assassinations] – disappear."
"Not even the New York Times had a reporter in Gaza during the invasion" [because Israel wouldn't let them]

Israel wanted to sell nukes in the 1970s to racist apartheid South Africa white men. Love how this translates into a sensationalist headline, but hey, it works.
Basically, Jews and Arabs were at relative peace in the mid-1900s. Then the European Jews were told they were allowed to steal a country that was not currently theirs. Everyone in the local region understood this, and basically tried to kill them. Now they are one of the most powerful nuclear militaries on the world, as they've been forced to defend themselves from, well, pretty much everybody.
And they tried to profit by selling nuclear weapons to other oppressors of freedom as well?
At this point, I don't see the European Israeli Jews as being much different than the Fascist Germany Nazis. They're not going to last; they're going to start a nuclear war in their area eventually.
It's particularly disturbing with Israel, because you would think a people treated so badly would learn something from their treatment. Nope.

You have to scrolldown or search for the term "WEAPONS DISCHARGE". Stafford County laws. Because I want to shoot guns in my parents' backyard, dammit! They have 12 acres!

Official Virginia gun laws.

Wages are at an ALL TIME low in proportion to other incomes; Our economy is NOT good.
Even if the macroeconomic numbers are good, that money is not being evenly distributed, with the rich/poor divide growing to greater-than-ever proportion. (Macroeconomic indicators really don't mean shit about actual individuals.)
Remember before feminism, when one man's job was enough to support a whole family? Those days are long gone! So now, thanks to equality [which is a good thing, don't get me wrong], both people work. Knowing that most couples have 2 incomes, companies know they can get away with paying us less — after all, we all have 2 jobs, right? ;)
So I'm not surprised to find out that wages are at an all time low, with many people relying on government handouts to survive.
And you can bet the bailout affects this. The bailout is an example of bad socialism… Privatized profits, socialized losses. The worst of both worlds. Republicans are responsible for this, too.

Did we not learn from the patent/copyright/intellectual property issues surround the human genome? Companies holding a patent on breast cancer tests, so that they make money off of every woman who wants to avoid cancer? Patenting life is messed up. But a broad patent on synthetic life could be just as bad — it could completely stifle our progress as a species, in the name of getting one corporation rich.
Call me a socialist, but I'd rather see all of mankind benefit from the technological advances of synthetic life. THIS IS BIG STUFF. This is possibly the most life-changing technological breakthrough that we'll see in our lifetime.
The real issue is not that the patent shouldn't exist at all, but that it is too broad. Go ahead and profit off your invention for 8 yrs — but you shouldn't be allowed the hold the rest of the planet back with an overly-broad patent during that time. And you should only get 8 years.
A lot of us are thinking the patent system is a net loss for society..

Wow. Mental coping mechanisms to deal with bad grammar people. Funny stuff!

We can't lose this fight!
If they can watch us, we should be able to watch them.
This is NOT what wiretapping laws were meant to do.In fact, the laws they are charging people on don't even apply sometimes! They're just maliciously running people through the system to try to set an example. I'd almost call this "activist enforcement" in the same way that people use the phrase "activist judges". They're attempting to change the cultural landscape to de facto criminalize activities that AREN'T illegal [at least, not in Maryland] without passing legislation, by ruining the lives of people who do it [and knowing they'll set an example by being in the media/blogosphere].
This has to stop. If they get surveillance, we get sousveillance. Technology rights are meant to be for the civilians too — that's part of what the Second Amendment is about!
