  Suck it, free market conservatives. If Exxon-Valdez didn't cause everyone to stop buying Exxon gas, this won't have any affect on BP either. Both companies continued to make money. Free markets don't magically solve problems. The invisible hand that Adam Smith talked about was the hand of god, which doesn't actually exist.

  BP violated their own safety policies and design standards. Why? There's money in it!

  A longer, well thought out article explaining how the current oil spill problems are the fault of both the Republicans AND the Democrats. But a bit more so about the Republicans. Hypocrisy, Cowardice: Both bad.

  Very good points made in the article. We're trying to fix a system now in response to the current oil spill, but did Exxon-Valdez cause anything to actually be fixed? Nope. Nothing changed.
