Say hello to Carolyn‘s brain, the new-and-improved version:
Read about Carolyn’s eye problems under her blog’s Health tag. Some stills of the results are on FlickR. They are very interesting.
Special thanks to Dave O for making the animation components! I then used Virtualdub to standardize framerate and resolution, and CoolEdit to edit the music to the right length. Carolyn oversaw the process.

That was, quite frankly, very disturbing…
Maybe I shouldn’t have been eating a blueberry muffing while watching that…mmmm blueberry muffin *drool*

Carolyn’s brain is trippy as hell. Well done!
er.. Okay, that’s weird.. As I re-read what I just typed, the words “well done” made me think of cooking steak..
So hopefully it didn’t sound like I was saying that I’d like to eat Carolyn’s brain, cooked “well done.” Because I’d probably go for medium or medium-rare, actually.
Then again, I’d probably avoid getting in a brain-eating situation in the first place. Especially if the brain belonged to Carolyn (whose brain is much too entertaining to eat.. I’m looking forward to a remix or sequel someday!), or a live screaming monkey.
OH! It’s Monday morning, didn’t get a whole lot of sleep, and I listened to Misfits on the way to work today. I don’t normally ramble on about eating brains for dinner, brains for lunch, brains for breakfast, brains for brunch. Brains at every single meal, why can’t we have some guts? Oy oy oy!

I love the live screaming monkey link :) They just need to add a YouTube video of them eating the monkey from Faces Of Death.
Mmm, brains. That song, too, would have been an appropriate backdrop!

Hehe yeah, plus I thought you might like to have some new search terms associated with your blog. Maybe someday “eating live screaming monkey brains” will surpass your favorite, dr*nk t33ns $h!tting (trying not to add to that one in the process).
Live screaming monkeys are more along the lines of what clintjcl’s blog is all about, after all. hehe. I’ll bet dr*nk t33ns eating live screaming monkey brains would probably need to do some $h!tting, though. Eww.
I mean, uh… Carolyn’s brain rules! There, this comment is still on topic. Can’t wait for the sequel. Maybe you could mix in some live screaming monkey brain MRIs, set to that misfits song.
I should quit writing insanely long comments on your blog, and actually post something on [shameless plug]spugbrap’s random notes geek blog[/shameless plug] one of these days. :-P

Hahaha… man you were in a weird state of mind Monday, Dave.

Possible interest in this animation being used in a television series:
“I’m sure this is a strange request….
I am an Executive Producer at a television production company in NYC (www.trueentertainment.net). I am finishing a medical pilot for The Learning Channel and am in need of a brain MRI of a structurally sound brain (I have many of brains that have had bits removed – we’re doing a story on epilepsy) to use in the opening title sequence. It would just be the MRI, there would be no identifying information – totally anonymous.
I can’t guarantee that the show will get picked up, but I can offer you a credit on the show, if you’d like. It would be something like “Title Animation” and you’d be credited along with the company who is doing the logo.
If you are interested, I can send you a Materials Release which says that you agree to let us use the image in the show, for this show/series only (i.e., it won’t wind up on American Idol or anything). What I’d need from you is a high-rez file of the MRI.
Interested? Please let me know either way.
Thanks!
