Is this really the land of the free? Read on for the links… the iGasm in particular seems like an interesting device – a sex toy for females that vibrates in tune to the music being listened to.

SEX VS CORPORATIONS VS COPYRIGHT: Apple Sues Over iGasm Ads
Okay, this just sounds like a great product. Fuck Apple for suing; if anything, this helps sell more iPods (though it appears the device can be used with ANY headphone jack).Damn good idea for a sex toy.

Let’s hope that Allen Nelms, 52, wins a million-dollar lawsuit against the police department.Behavior like this CANNOT BE PERMITTED in a democratic society, period.
“Officers were within our departmental policies.” Typical pig-speak.

By the way, when they tasered the diabetic black guy as he lie in his bed having a seizure, after knocking down the door for a 911 *ambulance call* from an address that had done this before for the same reason, they laughed about it, and the final resolution for Allen Nelms was:
“A review regarding your written complaint … was conducted,” says the four-line letter dated May 9. “After careful consideration of your allegations, we have found that the officers were within our departmental policies regarding the less than lethal force option (TASER) on you during an event at your residence.”
I mentioned the summary statement above, but I like the verbose statement too. It shows just how far up their asses the Waxahachie police have shoved their heads.

So how did that case turn out? Hopefully there’s a lawsuit from hell going on.

It usually takes at least 2-4 yrs for the lawsuits in these situations to resolve. The pigs make you fight for years and still wont admit they are wrong even when they settle.

As an update Chriggy – a lawsuit has now finally been filed!

http://www.badcopnews.com/2007/11/12/federal-lawsuit-charges-waxahachie-texas-police-officer-ricky-wilson-and-others-with-brutal-taser-weapon-attack-on-disabled-veteran-suffering-diabetic-episode-after-his-friend-called-911/
“The lawsuit names the city of Waxahachie and the Waxahachie Police Department as well as individual officers Sgt. Ricky Wilson, John Doe No. 1 and John Doe No. 2.”
““I respect the law and police, but on this day I was a shooting target for them when I needed help,” Nelms said”
““They just haven’t responded,” Ramsey said, noting at least two written letters were sent to the city – with no reply received. “There’s been no response whatsoever.””
“According to the lawsuit, officer John Doe No. 1 arrived at the residence, with Edwards and Nelms telling him they didn’t need police but had called for paramedics.”
“they “began making jokes about Mr. Nelms’ anatomy by commenting on the size of” a body part that had fallen out of his clothing while he was “flailing around on the floor from the effects of the Tasers.””
“The lawsuit also alleges Edwards was told “she should be glad they ‘didn’t use the real thing’ instead of the Tasers.””
Nelms was not arrested nor was he ever charged relating to the incident.
““It all boils down to what a reasonable officer should have done at the time,” Ramsey said. “It’s hard to explain why an officer didn’t know there’s a Fourth Amendment protection against an officer entering a home without a warrant.””
“Ramsey said. “Every citizen should be able to call for paramedics without feeling the police are going to show up and Taze them.”
Amen.
I think it’s high time we have two 911s — one for heavy-handed police, and a softer, “811”, for ambulances.
