Everyone saw the video of them beating this man to a bloody pulp on CNN for “suspicion of being drunk” (he wasn’t). Cops even attacked the reporters who were around, and we all saw that too! They were FIRED!But convicted? OF COURSE NOT!
-
Only 174 out of 3,3301 deserters (for the 2006 fiscal year) were court-martialed.This is most likely politically motivated by their criticism of the U.S. Government.
I count that as stifling free speech, and thus censorship.

POLITICS: New BBC documentary to expose 1933 plot to overthrow US government
Perpetrators included George Bush’s father, Prescott Bush. It’s already known that the Bushes made a fortune in dealing with the Nazis — go read Prescott’s wikipedia page.In fact, they planned to actually overthrow the govt & enact Hitler’s policies.

TECHNOLOGY WAR: U.S. Senators Call for Universal Internet Filtering
“Wont somebody PLEASE think of the children?!?!?!”
-
Indecent exposure, because his cell was watched by video, so a woman was offended at seeing him masturbate.Next up, indecency charges for taking a piss?
No, this is just incredibly wrong. You have a constitutional right to your own dick!
-
TECHNOLOGY WAR: Ocean City, NJ, to require RFID-tracking of all people on the beach
You are cattle. Get used to it. Expect news like this to increase in the future.
-
TECHNOLOGY WAR? CENSORSHIP? WAR ON TERROR? Teenager, students jailed for having extremist material
So now having material that the government doesn’t agree with can get 5 peop;le you imprisoned for 2-3 years each?WTF?
I’d like to know more details on this, but I don’t think that the POSSESSION of INFORMATION should EVER be a crime.

alleged:unnecessary use of force, assault & battery, false arrest, defamation. The VA General Assembly passed a resolution commending Koch for his volunteer work as a van driver, a teacher, a mentor, and with various civic groups.

ANIMALS: CATS: Grim reapurr: The cat that can predict death
An interesting quick read about a cat who curls up next to people who are about to die. Oscar has so far “predicted” 25 deaths. They have even called in family members to spend their dying moments together — based on the cat’s “predictions”.

TECHNOLOGY WAR: Deep Packet Inspection and Net Neutrality
Cisco helped China out in developing some of this technology. Now, ISPs are increasingly starting to monitor their customers’ traffic, including finding out what kind of applications you are running, etc.THIS IS BAD.

UPDATE on Cop (Robert Evangelist) taped beating man in post-Katrina New Orleans:
Remember when I said he got off scot-free, except for losing his job?
Well, now he’s got his job back.
So now he’s completely gotten away with it. No real punishment.
http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2010/02/new_orleans_police_officer_is.html
This is the 2nd post-Katrina officer fired who has now been forced to be reinstated.
Gee, can I sue for my old job back too?
“Evangelist and officer Lance Schilling were fired after the beating of Robert Davis in October 2005. Schilling, who faced criminal charges in the beating, committed suicide in June 2007.
“A third officer, Stuart Smith, was suspended for 120 days and accused of simple battery for allegedly shoving his finger in the face of an Associated Press producer whose crew recorded the incident. Those charges were later dropped.”
Oh, so the guy who messed with a reporter’s first amendment rights to cover things, didn’t even get charged.
New Orleans must be one hell of a shithole.
The guy beaten? He stopped to ask the police the rules. That’s why he got beaten: He asked authority how to follow authority, and authority beat him and got away with it, while retaining its authority.
Broke his nose.
Broke his face.
Never charged him.
So basically, legally, it’s as if nothing ever happened.
