October 2007

I got my first hate blogpost (by someone who, in his blogger profile, says “About me: I’m a pig”), AT&T can now get every IP address you visited in 40 lines of code, touching a cop’s badge when he wont give you his badge number will get you permanent nerve damage, whatever you do — don’t play craps and accidentally make an invalid arrest, or you’ll be charged with a 10-year felony!, Who the fuck actually cares about online virtual pedophiles in SecondLife? It’s not real life! University of Delaware implements policy literally saying “ALL white people are racists, and people of color cannot be racists”, Is it Christmas (with RSS feed)? And a nice article by Michael Vail on the TECHNOLOGY WAR. (more…)

So, a years or two ago I carried over about 160 hours of vacation time.  This was July.  All of a sudden, our next paychecks were cut, and I only had 47 hours of vacation time.  They decided employees could only carry 80 hours over, and reset mine, retroactively, to 80.  Of course, thinking I had 160, I was very liberal with my vacation time, taking far more vacation than usual (I usually take the minimum amount, keeping my balance as high as possible).  So I had used up 33 hours by July.  80-33 = 47.  So in one day, I went from 127 to 47.  That really pissed me off.

Now I am finding out that the 80-hour carry-over wasn’t company policy.  They just decided to implement the policy, retroactively, taking away vacation.  I don’t even think that should be legal — and it wouldn’t for normal corporations — but this is an under-50-person company.  Being under 50 persons complete changes the rules of business, and my company has gone close to 50, but purposely never exceeds 50 people.  So anyway, I am displeased by this.  Originally I thought they had failed to implement policy, and were simply fixing 6 months of mis-stated balances.  But now I see that it was just a plain money grab, to reduce the amount of vacation used/paid-out to people.  It reeks of bullshit.   I want my 86.25 hours vacation leave back… that’s over 2 weeks of my life that I will never, ever get back.  And I will indeed remember this 50 years from now.

My new computer is coming along quite nicely, but I still think Windows XP blows compared to Windows 2000. Change is bad when you already have everything you need and just want to continue using the same hardware and software you’ve been using for 10+ years. If I want to do new stuff, I’ll get another computer for that. Leave my main computer alone. Also: Micro-review of Shrek 2. ** WARNING: SUPER-LONG POST **. You might want to ‘star’ this for lunch. Also: This Website will tell you who to vote for, with Clint-approved precision (I’ve tested it).  Arrange your top 10 issues in 4 areas in the order you care about them, and watch it graph all currently running politicians in relation to you.  (more…)

Read up on Asperger’s Syndrome at WikiPedia, if you don’t already know what it is. I just took a 171-question quiz. Apparently, I am average, although it is pretty clear that in every category (especially “Talent”), I leaned slightly in the Aspie direction. That is, for almost every section, my neurotypical score was lower than my Asperburger score. UPDATE: 20100201: The test now has a version 2, so I took it again. I will place my new results below the old results.

Version 1:

Your Aspie score: 100 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 96 of 200
You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits

Version 2:

Your Aspie score: 106 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 107 of 200
You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits.

Do you have Asperburger’s Syndrome? Take the survey HERE and find out.

I am pleased to announce that I have played Guitar Hero 3 and it has a “co-op career mode”… This means that couples have finally been considered, and I am very pleased.

Now we can finally fuck, instead of watch each other masturbate. That is, we can finally both play Guitar Hero at the same time while unlocking stuff, instead of having to watch the other play. Yay! (more…)

    Your Personality Is Like Acid

A bit wacky, you’re very difficult to predict.
One moment you’re in your own little happy universe…
And the next, you’re on a bad trip to your own personal hell!
At your best: You understand the world completely, and every ordinary experience is sublime.

What people like about being around you: You say and do the craziest things. You’re very entertaining.

What people dislike about being around you: You’re unpredictable. Your mood swings are quite intense.

How addicted people get to you: They pretty much don’t get addicted to you.

DSL’s gonna get expensive (I already pay $70/mo, and $90/mo before that!). Internet censorship phenomenon extends to Germany. Virginia congressman tells comcast: Fuck off!

And someone out there is saving links about me… Here’s how they described my links (without ever having seen my blog): “From del.icio.us user clintjcl who adds his own spin on items, albeit somewhat scary leftist at times, but still quite intriguing.” (more…)

Censorship for money certainly isn’t new news. . . The $25K thing is an interesting idea that I’m sure a lot of Americans in particular would really hate . . . (more…)

And of course, cops attacking bicycle rallies (again), and families calling 911 only to be beaten by the cops they called. It’s a great day to be alive, people. Plus, I will be playing Guitar Hero 3 within hours. (more…)

Canada May Tax Legal downloads. Yes! Provide even more incentive to pirate!
Canda provider of Free Public Domain Music shuts down – because the music is illegal in some European Union countries. WHAT THE FUCK? SOVREIGNITY, people! Pornography is illegal in Iran, so are we going to shut down Hugh Heffner and Playboy? FUCK, NO. This is some of the stupidest shit Canada has done — and this is from a country that considers the queen something more than a worthless sack of aging decrepid shit! (more…)

Amazing news today. More medical marijuana evidence — some of the most compelling ever. Legal drugs kill over 520,000 people a year, while all illegal drugs kill only about 3,000 people a year. Meanwhile, this particular brain cancer kills 7,000 a year, andcan be treated by the THC in marijuana. It’s no wonder our brains evolved neuroreceptors that have no known use other than to receive THC. Obviously, some of us actually need it. Also amazing: Man charged with disorderly conduct for standing on a sidewalk in Times Square. And, of course, the fact that Dumbledore, from Harry Potter, is actually gay. (more…)

And, to top things off, NYC rejects listing worker as 911 deathFarmers *finally* sue DEA over hemp farming. The Spider-Pig photo pool is just… So odd. I wish every AdultSwim cartoon was as popular as The Simpsons, because I’d love to see such tomfoolery under a less cliche title. Simpsons has been done to death, but it isn’t getting old either, so I’m not really complaining. :) (more…)

The Simpsons paintings and the LEGO video games are my favorite.  They’re amazing and I’ve encouraged this person to make more of them.  I also told him I was blogging about him!  Favorite Simpsons is Groundkeeper Willie in Van Gogh style, and Favorite LEGO videogame is Excitebike.
