I’ve been grabbing a lot of episodes of “cartoons that never should have been” lately. Not for watching, but mostly for having. And laughing at. And fast-forwarding through. And getting a feel of how bad they were. I present you with screenshots from “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures” (1990) (imdb). Not to be confused with the other Bill & Ted animated series (FOX) from 1992 (imdb), which everyone says is much worse in terms of voices and writing.
Here’s the theme song:
Of course they have their band:
…their trademark surprised look:
…And a hot step-mom who they gawk at:
… And some of the first CGI used in “Saturday Morning” cartoons too, to illustrate their time travel:
In this episode, they go to ancient China:
and manage to get sentenced to hard labor:
…No racial stereotypes here!
Finally, they end up in a pirate era, and some other misadventures occur:
The “S.S. Party On” quickly got sunk by a shark attack. I have to say, however, that I really like the way they draw clouds in this series. These are almost Van Gogh-esque, but it’s not like I know enough about painters to make a true comparison. (Though I do have a JPG of pretty much every Van Gogh painting ever, though. Dali too.)
Watch a full 6 minute episode here:
Or find other youtube videos from this show HERE.
This one might not be as bad as the average Cartoon That Never Should Have Been. I have a feeling that the FOX 1992 B&T series would probably be more appropriate to blog here, but I don’t have any episodes of that one.

I love Bill and Ted excellent adventure. When I was little, I used to look forward on Saturday to watch this show (CBS). However, I have to admit, when fox took to over, it because boring.
