Our tiling adventures have continued further. Wasn’t expecting them today, then they were like “Can we come around 3?” Which of course actually meant 4:45PM. They just left at 9:30PM. They didn’t want to stop! The room is about 60% tiled, and they helped us move the couches and entertainment center onto the tile. That wasn’t enough — they put down the Ardex FeatherFinish cement onto the rest of the floor. They are ready to finish the job in 1 day I think, maybe 2 if they have to come back to do the baseboards/shoe molding. I might take some pictures, and I might incorporate them into this post later. Maybe. Maybe not. So here’s a different picture instead… And no, I’m not keeping it. I was only like this for 24 hours:

This is what the law in america means. There was no written record of the incident. Had there been no cameras, the police would have plausible deniability, and no lawsuit would have been won. Fortunately we have cameras — but tapes get “lost” all too often. This little cripple got really lucky. Let’s hope they give him millions of dollars. Story HERE. UPDATE: Another article HERE. Despite what the Chief says in that article, you can bet your ass that if the guy was not crippled, equivalent treatment would be a non-issue, and would “fall with acceptable policy”.

Oh, and if you think it’s a one-time occurrence at Hillsborough County Jail, think again — check them out beating someone else (a white woman) HERE (if that link doesn’t work, leave a comment and I’ll update it).  Savage.  Then she, too, is carried out in a stretcher.

I’m getting pretty good at playing the blogstat future prediction game, but of course it is impossible to predict perfectly.
I’m going to start guessing 100,000 ahead instead of 50,000 ahead.
It took 78 days to get from 150,000-250,000.
It took 66 days to get from 200,000-250,000.
It took 54 days to get from 250,000-300,000.
I predict 42.675 days to get from 300,000-350,000.
I predict 32.020 days to get from 350,000-400,000.
That’s 74.695 days, which I will round down to 74.
Which makes my prediction date for the 400,000th hit to be April 27th.
This is a hard (and pointless) game. I’ve done pretty good – the last 2 50,000s I predicted within 48 hours. But 100,000? I think I may be as far as week off.
