movie coverI'd rather be watching TV![IMDB link] [Netflix link] When did this come out? We almost didn’t hear about this.

PEOPLE: The same four kids from The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (2005). And a bunch of weird actors who acted in foreign films, among others.

BAD STUFF: I suppose, technically, this could be considered a sequel. Not only is the Prince Caspian book not the first book in The Chronicles Of Narnia, but this is also not the first Narnia movie by director Andrew Adamson (who also brought us Shrek 3). And I actually don’t find the story of the book or of the movie to be as memorable as the “first” book/movie, The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. (If you don’t understand the quotes around “first”, read this.)

CONCLUSION: As far as fantasy movies go, this is decent, but it could have been a lot better… I’d rather watch The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (2005), Stardust, Labyrinth, Lord Of The Rings, Legend, Krull, The Dark Crystal, or Pan’s Labyrinth. Not epic, but decent.

RECOMMENDATION: Fans of the books should probably see this. People who can’t get enough fantasy should probably see it. People who just want to watch the very best fantasy movies can skip this.

MOVIE QUOTE: Aslan: “Things never happen the same way twice, dear one.”
