  • WAR ON DRUGS: VICTORY: Strip Search of Junior High Girl for Ibuoprofen Unconstitutional, Supreme Court Rules
And it only took 5.5 yrs for justice. She's 18 now. She had this hanging over her her entire public school career.

No shit — strip-searching children for ibuprofen is just fucking ridiculous. Safford Middle School is full of assholes. Kerry Wilson should be fired, and move to Saudi Arabia.

Of course, SCOTUS reversed a lower ruling saying the officials who actually did this are liable. It's funny how "just following orders" was not deemed acceptable in Nazi concentration camps, but it's deemed acceptable in America. From the CIA agents or waterboarded people repeatedly, to strip-searching school officials, "just following orders" seems to be a valid excuse in America.

    Thank yo ACLU!

  • UNDERLY-HARSH PUNISHMENTS: Officer T.O. Dudley shoots moving vehicle in front of school IN VIOLATION OF POLICY, then LIES ABOUT IT to investigators
If you shot illegally, and lied about it to the judge — you'd be charged and sentenced.

But when a cop does it? 20 day suspension.

And of course the Fraternal Order Of Police says he should be trained, instead of suspended?

So is the Fraternal Order Of Police, through their mouthpiece Paul Daragjati, are implying that a) cops aren't trained, or b) it's okay to lie? Do not donate to this corrupt organization!

You lie in official capacity? You should be fired. He should be charged with filing a false police report, too. Fuck you, T.O. Dudley.

  • TECHNOLOGY WAR: Australian Web Filter To Censor Downloaded Games
This is the technological equivalent to your mailman opening up EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF YOUR MAIL, to make sure you aren't receiving illegal items in the mail.

This is the technological equivalent to recording EVERY PHONE CALL and running it by automated scans to see if you are talking about terrorism.

This is the technological equivalent of going into your library and removing books they don't want you to read.

But few will probably understand or realize this. Don't let the boogeyman of child porn and identity theft trick you into thinking internet blacklists are a good thing. They aren't. Ever.

  • MUSIC: Screeching Weasel/The Ramones – Beat Is On The Brat (1998) – Ramones tribute album by Screeching Weasel
One of my favorite punk bands, Screeching Weasel, did an Ramones tribute album. Actually — tracks 12 and 15-18 aren't Ramones coves.

Strangely, even though I'm a big Ramones fan … I tend to like Ramones songs better as performed by Screeching Weasel.

OMG I remember when that ibuprofen case first went to court, too. My God, nearly 6 years…
