PLOT SUMMARY: Crossword puzzle creator stalks news cameraman she met once for 5 minutes.

UNCOMFORTABLE PLOT SUMMARY (inspired by this): [highlight for spoilers] Manic crossword nerd stalks reluctant cameraman to no avail.

PEOPLE: Starring Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper (Phil from The Hangover, Peter from Yes Man, Ben from Wet Hot American Summer). Co-starring Thomas Haden Church (Lowell from Wings, Sandman from Spider-Man 3, Brawndon CEO from Idiocracy, Tales From The Crypt:Demon Knight), Ken Jeong (Mr. Chow from The Hangover, Role Models, Ken from Pineapple Express, Step Brothers, Knocked Up).

With Keith David (Goliath from Gargoyles, Gamer, Volcano, There’s Something About Mary), DJ Qualls (National Lampoon’s Senior Trip), Katy Mixon (Susan from Four Christmases, The Informers) (did they make her gain weight? She’s hot, but a bit thick), M.C. Gainey (Roscoe P. Coltrane in the 2005 Dukes Of Hazzard, Terminator 3, Club Dread), Howard Hesseman, Beth Grant (Mary from Extract–I think she was the factory worker who caused the unfortunate testicular accident), and Kerri Kenny (The State, Role Models, Wet Hot American Summer).

QUIRKS: Stalky geekism… Sandra Bullock is kind of manic and scary in this movie. She thinks everything is a bit too special.

VISUALS: Sandra Bullock does NOT look as good as a halfway-between-blonde-and-brunette. I always prefer stark looks, and indecisive hair colors are NOT stark.

MORALS: If you are a stalker, everyone will eventually love you. Okay, that’s not really the moral. The real moral is that weird people should not be ostracized, nor should they change who they are. It’s actually quite a good moral.

BAD STUFF: It’s a romantic comedy. Although it does break formula.

CONCLUSION/RECOMMENDATION: If you can’t find another comedy to watch, this has it’s moments. It’s nothing great, but it definitely has its moments of brilliance. Deaf children falling into a mineshaft FTW!

RATINGS:
Clint: Netflix: 3/5 stars. IMDB: 6.6/10. (A reluctant 7/10.)
Carolyn: Netflix: 3/5 stars. IMDB: 7/10.
The native public rating for this movie is: IMDB: only 4.9/10, Netflix: 3.1/5 stars (Netflix‘s predicted rating for us was 3.2/5 stars).

MOVIE QUOTE: Mary Horowitz: It’s like taking 10 friends on a camping trip. [This is why she likes wearing boots… Wow.]

COINCIDENCES: (All About Steve, Flapjack #13A) 2 videos in the same night with the song “I Will Follow Him” by Peggy March (though Flapjack’s was a parody). First coincidence of 2010.
