Nathan G

Dreamed we went to some party.

The location was my uncle Duke’s house [which comes up in dreams all the time for some reason]:

It was here...

Except that, as is often in the case of dreams, you know things aren’t how they really are. Despite this being the house above, it was also simultaneously my parents’ final Woodbridge house [they weren’t there] as well:

...except that 'here' is really here

The people attending were goth scene/DC clubber types, except I didn’t know any of them. They were particularly unfriendly in this dream, compared to in real life.

I looked for intoxicants and couldn’t find any.

I also looked through my cousin Nathan‘s files on his computer, which was in my mom’s original writing room.

I'm sorry I pilfered your files in dreamworld.

Eventually everyone left, and we were going to go to sleep in my old room / Britt’s old room / the upstairs bedroom of my parents’ final Woodbridge house. Then I noticed somebody sitting really really high on a tree branch. I thought it was a cheerleader. “Why is a cheerleader about to watch us sleep?”

Help! A creepy cheerleader is stalking me!

But closer inspection revealed it was Oranjello, so high up in a tree that it seemed like he wouldn’t be able to get down without hurting/killing himself.

way, way, way, way, way higher than this...

So I decided to reach out and pull him in through the window, but the window didn’t really open. So instead, I vertically pulled him in between the panes of glass. I mean, scrunching him to like 1-2 inches. I was really surprised he fit through, but he did. It was like he was a liquid kitty.

Our 10 year marriage / 18 year dating anniversary actually happened 2 days ago, on the 10th. But our wedding reception happened on 2/12/2000 — 10 years ago. It was a pretty big reception, and was followed by an equally big party at our house that night. (There were a few hours in between the events for everyone to change, eat dinner, etc.)

A good hour of video was taken by our friend Tony T! I managed to get it converted to VHS, and later to AVI on the computer, and later to YouTube postings with YouTube’s stupid 10 minute limit requiring me to break it up into 20 parts of various sizes. Here are the videos — most of them peppered with youngest-cousin Todd being extremely annoying. Go past the jump to see the pics & vid! (more…)

So, last Friday (20071102) was one of the stranger days in Casa Clarolyntopiastan. My co-worker Pam came over to hang out for the first time ever, bringing a friend. Then, Glen & Meagan came over, bringing Meagan’s friend Ryan and a girl named Erin(?) who was very quiet. Then, Susan came over and brought her friend “J”. who I’d met at DC Lauren’s party the same night I met DC Lauren :) So, at this point, I had 3 strangers over, 1 person who’d never been in the house, and another who’d only been here during parties. The familiar were more-or-less outnumbered by the unfamiliar. So anyway, my co-worker (read on for more) (more…)

Camping was a resounding success in terms of numbers, with one of our larger camping parties — fourteen people: Clint, Carolyn, Casey D, Christian D, Dan C, Evan G, Gene G, Heather K, Jesse B, Kipp E, Mark I, Melanie B, Nathan G, and Shannon D. (more…)

The night before our camping trip, we went to my cousin Nathan’s going away party.  He is moving back to New Mexico. Read on for details. (more…)

So, Jess & Nate got married on June 10th, 2007!  Friday, Carolyn had to go to Jess’s bachelorette party… (more…)

Well, we all went camping this weekend, and it was nice to know we actually succeeded. Last April we tried to set up camping trip “2006 #1” and it became canceled three times due to people backing out (almost always unnecessarily) due to the weather. It was nice that this camping trip worked out in a single try! (more…)
