Nice to know that our “capitalist” system involves lawyers ensuring that the public has no clue that RFID is very insecure. An uninformed public always consumes more.

Wow. Just… wow. Are we fucking China or Iran? Or are we America? It’s getting harder and harder to tell every day.
-
A rough translation of an article in the biggest Dutch newspaper about Netherlands having to pull their special agents out of Iran, because an emminent attack by U.S. unmanned drones is expected.
-
Wow. Foreclosure? Really? Over an automated ticket? That could be given to someone borrowing your car while you are out of the country? Fucking insane.

the little kid crying just makes this video even funnier…

Add a column for folder’s total size in windows explorer.

It’s also REALLY bad for your computers. Moderation…
-
Indeed. This is definitely needed.
-
It had to be done. This is actually safe-for-work, too.
-
Duh. But nice to hear common sense coming out of a “official” source of information — a study of 20,000 people.

It is blatantly unconstitutional. She was ordered to remove any SubGenius artwork from her house in order to keep her kid (which she only got back after her idiot husband had a felony drunk driving arrest). She’s totally bankrupt. And the state of New York is still trying to fuck her over.

…And plenty of people still don’t believe them. See also: http://www.roguegovernment.com/news.php?id=11581

Yup. The FBI wants to be able to investigate anyone, for any reason, at any time. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, Terrible, Terrible idea.

It’s nice to see Fair Use re-established in the courts again. It’s nice to see that we don’t have to pause our music before taking 30 second camera videos to post to our youtube. The DMCA has been used to run roughshod over our technological rights — It’s really nice to see the big guy LOSE for once.

YouTube video depicting what a live-action movie based on Pac-Man would look like.

Fuck Comcast. Everyone should switch to any alternative available. http://www.broadbandreports.com !

If there aren’t riots where muslims idiotically trample themselves to death in protest — then the world will know the truth.
The riots about the Dutch Mohammad cartoonist were not about depicting Allah, but were actually about offending Muslims.
Let’s see if riots start. I predict no.
Typicaly religious bullshit hypocricy. -
Bees pollenate 1/3rd of our food, and at a time of global food crisis, it may be better to deal with pests than to deal with 1/3rd of our food lacking a pollenation source. We need to find out if Clothianidin is causing the colony collapse disorder that is happening worldwide. Even from a capitalist standpoint, it seems there is more money to be made with pests AND bees, than without pests and bees.

Neuropathic pain is caused from damage of the nerves (including from HIV, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis). It is typically resistant to conventional pain drugs.
Now, why should people in pain have to suffer by having an effective medicine be criminalized? To protect them from themselves?
-
Or maybe it just feels that much longer? ;)
-
Sure seems like it based on this article.

It’s nice to see that SOME state governments are catching on to the fact that unaccountable voting machines make stealing an election easier than ever, or the fact that the Diebold/Premiere CEO said he was “comitted to delivering George Bush his electoral votes” (which he did, at the last minute), or the fact that Clint Curtis testified to the Ohio supreme court that his Diebold superiors had ordered him to write a vote flipping program.
Unaccountability is bad, mmm’kay? Counting physical pieces of paper is unfortunately a superior system. Even e-voting machines that print out a piece of paper that matches your vote is a superior system. Unaccountable voting machines are an example of using technology in a bad way which is a dire threat to democracy itself.

I always used an https bookmark, but gmail has now added an option that forces encryption whenever you login. This is good. Your email should not be sent out over the net unencrypted if you can help it. FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS, gmail users.

Now, if this guy actually did anything to hurt children — he should be put away. Regardless of that, I am happy to see a positive ruling for technological freedom. Having encrypted files is offline is much like having the ability to post anonymously online — it allows a place for data to exist without fear of retribution. And of course any power can be used for good or evil, just like a gun (which I think we should have!)
As for the case specifically — I think he should go free. They can tap his internet connection or search his home if they want to actually catch him. They didn’t do that here.
