CLAIRE’S THOUGHTS:
While it did indeed deviate — expectedly — from the comic book version of stories, this was still an awesome installation for the X-Men movie franchise.
If they do an Age Of Apocalypse movie, I will not be able to be happier!
This is all segueing into the very stories that were coming out right when I started reading comics at age 21.
I would have liked more use of powers in this one. There didn’t seem to be as much mutant fighting as the other movies. But then, that is the nature of the story. The flash-forwards provided all of the action and none of the intrigue, while the flash-backs provided all of the intrigue and very little action. I guess that would be my only complaint.
CAROLYN’S THOUGHTS:
I don’t think that was exactly how the comic story went, but this was pretty awesome! I love the X-Men, and it’s awesome seeing the stories from the comic come to life on the big screen. I’m looking forward to the next one in 2016! The Quicksilver scene was awesome!
