movie coverI'd rather be watching TV![IMDB link] [Netflix link]

PEOPLE: Jack Black & Michael Cera. A good team-up. Also with David Cross, Hank Azaria (The Simpsons), Xander Berkeley (24, Gargoyles, Superman/Batman:Public Enemies), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLuvin’ from Superbad), Juno Temple (St. Trinians) and a tiny Paul Rudd cameo (as Abel).

QUIRKS: Biblical / pre-historic bible parody.

BAD STUFF: Jack Black and Michael Cera are both much less funny than they normally are. The jokes in this movie simply aren’t as good as they could have been.

CONCLUSION: This is funny for making fun of the Bible, but unfortunately really fell short of its potential. That could have something to do with why I fell asleep the first time I tried to watch it, but that might have just been the alcohol.

RATINGS:
Clint: Netflix: 3/5 stars. IMDB: 6/10.
Carolyn: Netflix: 3/5 stars. IMDB: 6/10.
The native public rating for this movie is Netflix: 3.1/5 stars (but 3.6 for people who rate like me), IMDB 5.1/10.

RECOMMENDATION: See this if you like Jack Black, like Michael Cera, and think the bible is ridiculous. Just don’t expect a masterpiece.

FRIENDS’ RATINGS: Glen liked it. John The Canadien said it was awful.

Mood: tired
Music: Moistboyz – The Spike
